The Immersive Perspective vs. Technical Scan
Spatial documentation is split into two primary methodologies: Immersive 360° Capture and Technical Reality Scanning (Photogrammetry/3D Scanning/Gaussian Splatting).
- 360° Capture: Focuses on visual aesthetics and seamless experience. It provides the viewer with a high-resolution, spherical environment for engaging tours and marketing. It is primarily qualitative.
- Photogrammetry/Gaussian Splatting: Focuses on geometric accuracy and measurement. It generates dense, geo-referenced point clouds, Gaussian Splats, and textured 3D meshes suitable for digital twin creation and precise measurements. It ist primarily quantitative.
Workflow and Reality Capture
Our spatial workflow is designed for comprehensive site documentation and high-precision mapping:
- Pre-Capture Planning: Defining key viewing nodes for the 360° tour and establishing overlapping camera positions for accurate 3D model reconstruction (Photogrammetry/Gaussian Splatting input). Calibration of sensors for maximum dynamic range (HDR bracketing).
- Capture Execution: Systematic 360° spherical capture (up to 62K+ resolution) for immersive tours. Separate execution of Photogrammetry captures to collect the geometric data necessary for creating measurable 3D models.
- Post-Processing & Hosting: Seamless stitching and color correction of panoramic data for tours. Processing of photogrammetry data into clean, usable point clouds, Gaussian Splats and textured meshes for technical deliverables.
Technology & BIM Integration
Our spatial solutions sind built for professional, verifiable use, going beyond simple aesthetic tours:
- Photogrammetry, Lidar & Gaussian Splatting: These technologies represent the “as-built” condition of a project. They generate high-density point clouds or 3D splatting data that can be imported directly into BIM/CAD software to extract measurements and verify compliance (digital twin). Gaussian Splatting additionally enables photorealistic, high-density visualization in real time.
- Construction Monitoring: Periodic, time-stamped scans enable stakeholders to remotely track site progress, verify compliance, and document the "as-built" condition for facility management.
- VR & Interactive Tours: The aesthetic 360° assets are optimized for immediate use in Virtual Reality headsets (e.g. Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest) for client approval and advanced marketing presentations, offering the ultimate immersive experience.
